CFE`s Mobile Food Store Case Study
The development of the Mobile Food Store (MFS) started in April 2000 at the launch of East London Food Futures, took nearly 4 years to deliver, and started trading in February 2004. A customised van stocks a wide range of produce, from fresh fruit and vegetables to essentials such as baby food, nappies, dry and tinned food and fresh milk, and targets `food deserts` in the borough of Newham, concentrating initially on the West Ham & Plaistow New Deal for Community catchment area.   more...

Rising Star in Food Health
Local resident Bimbola Oyediran has just joined University of East London (UEL) at the very young age of 17. Ordinarily students must be 18 to join the university but having completed a number of units of the National Training Programme for Community Food Workers (NTP), Bimbola has been accepted early.
